David Maschmeier
Founder/CEO
David Maschmeier is a seasoned leader with over 15 years of expertise in both military and organizational leadership. His extensive service in the Kansas Army National Guard, spanning more than a decade, ending with an honorable discharge in 2013, an experience that profoundly deepened his commitment to service and community empowerment.

In his current role as Direct of Business Development at The Haven Texas, a prominent medical detox facility, David has spent the past three years driving substantial growth and forging indispensable partnerships that elevate the organizations mission and impact.

As the founder of Yule Sober Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, David is passionately dedicated to providing safe and affordable housing for LGBTQ+ individuals in recovery. His unwavering commitment to inclusivity and advocacy empower him to create significant opportunities for recovery, ensuring that everyone has the essential support they need to rebuild their lives with confidence.

Derrick McNeil
Board President
Derrick McNeil, a Texas native, is a digital strategy and innovation leader at Memorial Hermann Health System. With previous experience at Apple, WeWork, and Lyft, he blends his tech expertise with a strong commitment to helping others achieve their goals. Derrick also sits on the board of directors for Center12, a home for 12 step recovery groups to meet in an affirming safe space.

A'ishah Amatullah
Secretary
A'ishah Amatullah works as a Business Consultant at Health Care Service Corporation. They have a background in nonprofit policy, advocacy, and operations work, particularly in disability justice, human trafficking, and religious organizations. They hold a B.A. in Religion from Florida State University, and are currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Southern New Hampshire University. They are passionate about supporting other LGBTQ+ people in recovery.

Lupe Rios
Treasurer
Lupe Rios is an experienced financial professional with a strong background in public sector budget management. Currently, he manages a $180 million budget for a municipality in North Texas. Lupe holds a BBA in Management from the University of
Houston-Downtown and an MBA from Houston Christian University.
Lupe began his career with the City of Houston Health Department in 2013 as a Financial Analyst. He also served as the Controller for the Houston Health Foundation, gaining valuable expertise in financial oversight and management. In 2016, Lupe completed the Executive Leadership Program with the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) and has remained actively engaged with the local chapter, including serving as the Historian for NFBPA Houston. Additionally, he served on the NFBPA Finance, Budget and Investments Committee and is also a member of the Government Finance Officers Association.
In 2018, Lupe moved to Dallas to take on the role of Department Administrator, where he managed a $200 million budget, further honing his leadership and financial management skills. Lupe currently resides in Dallas, Texas, and continues to be a dedicated professional committed to driving effective and impactful leadership within the public sector.

Renee Rochin
Board Member
Renee Rochin is a Community Liaison on the Business Development team of Valley Hope Addiction Treatment Center. She has over 14 years of Marketing experience throughout her career. She is a mother of three boys and a woman in long term recovery. She is passionate about being an example of hope to those seeking recovery through her service work and community involvement. She volunteers at The Magdalen House , Our Calling and also serves on the board of The Legacy Family Court Foundation.

Brandon Poland
Board Member
Brandon Poland has been involved in social services for most of his career. Prior to moving to Dallas in 2017 from Austin, Brandon worked in a variety of roles for the State of Texas and in the healthcare startup spaces. Since then, he has focused his attention in the world of behavioral health, looking at opportunities to make an impact and help people who are seeking recovery from substance use and other co-occurring mental health disorders. In his spare time, you can find Brandon taking walks in his neighborhood, shopping in specialty cooking stores, or in the corner of a local coffee shop with a good book.
